My name is Mohammad Almohtasib and Six months ago, I started a journey that has been both rewarding and life-changing. Volunteering with Fundația Județeană pentru Tineret Timiș (FITT) through the Change Makers project has opened my eyes to new perspectives and taught me skills I never thought I’d learn.
Being part of this project, which is all about social inclusion, human rights, and solidarity, has been such an amazing experience. It’s not just about what I’ve done or contributed—it’s about how much I’ve learned and grown along the way. Working with the FITT team, amazing volunteers, and the local community has shown me how powerful it can be when people come together and work as a team.
FITT is an incredible organization in Timișoara, Romania, that’s all about empowering young people and building stronger communities. The Change Makers project, running until August 2025, is a big part of that mission. It brings together volunteers from all over the world to create spaces where young people feel safe, included, and supported. It’s about making a real difference—and it’s been amazing to be a part of it.
I am doing work as part of the Promotion and Media team, where my main focus is capturing the essence of our activities and sharing them with others. I take photos, film videos, write content, and help update the project’s website to showcase everything we are doing. Along the way, I am picking up skills in photography, videography, and editing—things I never thought I’d learn.
One of the most meaningful parts of my experience has been meeting young people from Romania and around the world. We played games, shared our thoughts, and learned a lot from each other. It was amazing to see how these simple moments helped everyone express themselves, connect, and feel supported.
Through this project, I’ve realized how diverse perspectives and teamwork can transform communities. Change Makers is more than a project—it’s a movement that creates lasting impact, and I’m grateful to have played a part in it.
The activities we’ve organized have given young people a space to share their stories and connect with others, building supportive networks. These experiences have shown me that even small efforts can create meaningful and lasting impact.
If you’ve ever considered volunteering, I encourage you to take that step. It’s an experience that challenges you, changes you, and allows you to be part of something bigger than yourself. Together, we can create a world.
